Andy Dalton and his family were involved in a car accident on Tuesday, news outlets reported. Report from WSOC-TV Charlotte.
The Panthers quarterback was in a car with his wife Jordan, three children and dog when they were involved in a crash in South Charlotte.
No one inside the car was taken away by paramedics, the newspaper said.
The Panthers acknowledged the incident. And Dalton told WSOC-TV that he is being evaluated by team officials.
Dalton, a 14-year NFL veteran, became the Panthers' starting quarterback in Week 3, replacing the struggling Bryce Young.
Dalton has thrown for 989 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions in six games this season (five starts).
The Panthers defeated the Raiders 36-22 on September 22 in Dalton's first start of 2024 and his first and only game of the season.
It's been a disastrous season for Carolina otherwise, but at 1-6 they are tied with the Patriots and Browns for the worst record in the NFL.
The Panthers suffered a 40-7 loss to the Coaches on Sunday.
Dalton, 36, had perhaps his worst game of the season in that game, throwing just 93 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns.

Before Tuesday's scary news, Carolina head coach Dave Canales confirmed that Dalton would be the team's starting QB in Week 8 against the Broncos on Sunday.
