Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton's wife, Jordan, said her family, including their three children, is “a little bit in shock” after he was involved in a car accident in Charlotte on Tuesday.
“Thank you to everyone who checked in and prayed for our family!” Jordan wrote in a note on her Instagram page Wednesday. “We're a little excited, but we couldn't be more thankful for the Lord's protection of our family yesterday!!”
Dalton, his wife, sons Noah and Nash, and daughter Finley were not transported by emergency medical personnel. the panthers said On Tuesday, the veteran quarterback added that he was being evaluated by team medical personnel.
“I would like to thank everyone who responded quickly to the accident,” Jordan said. “First responders…friends and strangers…I couldn't be more grateful for the way you show up for our families, especially our children.”
Jordan added two Bible verses, a bunch of heart emojis, and a dog emoji.
The Panthers said Dalton and his family, including the dog, were traveling west on Sardis Road in Charlotte when the accident occurred.
This came after the Panthers suffered a 40-7 loss to the Commanders on Sunday, giving Carolina its fourth straight loss.

Dalton, 36, threw two interceptions, including a 67-yard pick-six, and threw just 93 yards and no touchdowns.
The 36-year-old NFL veteran takes over for Bryce Young, who was benched just two weeks into his second NFL season.
The Panthers (1-6) will face the Broncos (4-3) on October 27th.
