Cabrera has not played on the PGA Tour Champions since withdrawing from the Pure Insurance Championship in September 2020.

Then, in December 2023, the PGA Tour cleared Cabrera to play in Tour-sanctioned events, paving the way for the 54-year-old Argentine to return as a PGA Tour Champion.
Now, Cabrera will be in action in Morocco, where the Trophy Hassan II will be his third PGA Tour Champions event of the season.
The tournament, hosted by Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco, is named after King Hassan II, who was King of Morocco from 1961 until his death in 1999.
Originally founded in 1971, the event portends an impressive list of champions, with Lee Trevino, Roger Maltby, Payne Stewart, Colin Montgomerie and Padraig Harrington all winning.
From 2010 to 2019, the Hassan II Trophy was an official event on the European Tour, but from 2020 to 2022 the tournament changed completely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Tournament organizers and tour executives then decided to approve it as an official PGA Tour Champions event, with 2023 being the first such event.
Stephen Ames, who won last week’s rain-shortened Chubb Classic, won in Morocco last year with a five-stroke lead over Mark Hensby (Australia).
