Angel Reese premiered a new podcast on Thursday in which she called Caitlin Clark's fans racist and accused them of sending nude AI photos of her to her family.
Reese spent a good portion of the podcast talking about his longtime rivalry with Clark, specifically pointing to the moment he pointed to his ring finger after he and his LSU teammates beat Clark's Iowa Hokies in the 2023 national championship game.
The former LSU star believes the moment not only intensified his rivalry with Clark, but also antagonized Clark's fans.
“I really think the fans, her fans, Iowa fans and Indiana fans, are just really running for her, and I respect that,” Reese explained. “But sometimes it's just so disrespectful. I think there's a lot of racism involved with that.”
Rees detailed just how serious the situation has become.
“People have come to my address and followed me home, that's what has happened,” Rees said.
A Chicago Sky draft pick even accused Clarke fans of using AI to embarrass his family.
“There have been a number of times where people have used AI to create nude images of me, and they've sent them to my family, and my family has been like, my uncle, sending me, 'Are you posting nudes on Instagram?'” Reese said. “It's awful that I have to go through that and it's awful to see other players have to go through that.”
Reese's ring finger extension may have intensified the rivalry with Clark, but it also marked a high point for Reese. The following year, Clark and the Hawkeyes defeated Reese's LSU Tigers in the NCAA Women's Final Four, and Clark has won three of four games against Reese and the Sky in the WNBA thus far.
