Angel Reese’s Impressions on Game Start

Angel Reese voiced her dissatisfaction with how the Atlanta Dream game began against the Indiana Fever on Sunday night, and she didn’t hold back during halftime.

Although the Dream ended the first half with a four-point advantage, Reese struggled initially, going 0-for-6 in shooting and missing multiple close-range shots.

Despite her rocky start, she was instrumental in a strong finish to the half, aiding in a 17-4 scoring run.

In an interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe at halftime, Reese candidly discussed her early performance. “At first we were playing normally, but this is a run game,” she remarked. “Having teammates who believe in you is crucial. Madina, Rhyne – they’re really stepping up.”

Allisha Gray led the Dream with 21 points during the game and continued to build momentum. Okot chipped in with six points and added significant contributions on defense.

“I just want us to come together and let our defense do the talking,” Reese emphasized.

By the end of the first half, Reese had accumulated seven points with three successful shots out of ten attempts, along with nine rebounds. Rowe asked her what made the difference after her slow start.

“I’m just taking my time and trusting my abilities,” Reese responded.

Reese, now in her third season, has made her third All-Star team this year and is a vital component of the Dream, which boasts a record of 21-12 in 2026. She’s averaging a career-high 15.6 points and 12.0 rebounds per game.

The Dream and Fever are both vying for first place in the East Division, and the outcome of this matchup will determine who holds the top position for now.
