Angel Reese cheers on brother in Maryland’s March Madness loss to Florida

WNBA star Angel Reese was in the building between Maryland and No. 1 Florida in the Madness Sweet 16 on Thursday night.

Angel was also on the sidelines along with her mother Angel Webb Reese, with the Maryland native wearing a shirt that read, “I'm from Baltimore.”

Senior Julian officially knocked out Terrapin from the NCAA Tournament with 12 points and eight rebounds to Maryland in an 87-71 loss to the Gators.

The 21-year-old received honorable mentions of the entire Big 10 in two consecutive seasons between his sophomore and junior year.

Like Angel, Julian also established himself as the Terps elite rebound presence, grabbing the 1,000th committee of his career with his second round victory in Colorado on Sunday.

“I think he's a big guy who's especially experienced AAU and high school basketball today,” says Maryland head coach Kevin Willard. I told the athletic“The only way to go to basketball is to set up picks and rolls or get rebounds.”

Julian has started almost every game on TERPS this season, averaging 13.3 points and 9.1 rebounds.

“He's always had a good feeling about where the ball goes, and I think that's a sexy answer,” Willard said. “He has a really good feeling about where the shots miss, he doesn't run to the same spot every time.

“He knows who's shooting it and where he's going. [Gillespie]. Kobi's mistake is a bit of a butt. The rod is a bit difficult. Julian understands that. ”

Angel joined Maryland with Julian in her first two years of college, a member of the Terps women's basketball team, and received all American honors for the third team in her sophomore season.

Two years after Maryland, Angel moved to LSU, where he led the Tigers to their first national title in 2023 before being drafted by WNBA Draft Chicago Sky.
