Once again, Angel Reese has earned her spot as an All-Star, and she’s thrilled to be part of Nafisa Collier’s team.
Upon learning of her selection as a Links Star in the WNBA All-Star Game Draft on Tuesday night, Reese took to X to express her enthusiasm about joining Team Collier.
“Phee on the Nah team is Stackeddd,” she shared, alongside a Smiley Face Emoji.
Reese now finds herself in the spotlight due to her rivalry with Caitlyn Clark, as highlighted in Christine Brennan’s book, “Her Games: Caitlyn Clark and the Revolution of Women’s Sports.”
This marks Reese’s second All-Star appearance, and she’s been impressive this season, averaging 12.6 points, alongside 12.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists, placing her among the league leaders.
In June, she particularly stood out, averaging over 13 points per game with a shooting percentage of 45.9%. This is quite the leap from her 31.1% in the first five games of May.
Reese has recorded six double-doubles, with her latest five games each showcasing at least 15 rebounds and 15 points.
Discussing her performance, Reese mentioned, “I had to crush it,” according to Yahoo.
While Reese will be among the reserves, the starting lineup includes notable players like Brena Stewart (Liberty), Alisha Gray (Dream), Nneka Ogwumike (Storm), and rookie Page Bueckers (Wings) alongside Collier.
Clark’s side features Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu, three-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson from the Aces, Satou Sabally from the Mercury, as well as Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell from the Fever.
The All-Stars will showcase their skills at Gainbridge Field House in Indiana on July 19th.
