Angel Reese foiled on late possession as Auburn upsets No. 7 LSU

AUBURN, Ala. — Honesty Scott-Grayson scored 21 points and Auburn upset No. 7 LSU 67-62 on Sunday.

LSU, the defending national champion, entered the game with the nation's highest scoring offense at 93.8 points and had won 16 straight games, the best in the nation.

Auburn (12-5, 1-3 Southeastern Conference) forced 15 turnovers in the home win and held LSU (16-2, 3-1) to its lowest points of the season.

Jamya Mingo-Young stole the ball from LSU's Angel Reese with 10.4 seconds left in regulation, clinching the victory.

She made both free throws to put Auburn ahead by two possessions.

“This was my fault,” Reese wrote to X. Joe Tigers”

Mingo-Yong had 13 points and five assists for Auburn. Caitlin Duhon had eight points and Taylen Collins had six points and seven rebounds.

The win was Auburn's first against a top-10 opponent since Jan. 27, 2022, when it defeated No. 4 Tennessee at home.

Reese led LSU with 24 points. She has now scored in double figures in all 50 games at LSU. Aneesa Morrow added 12 points and 15 rebounds.
