In their third WNBA matchup, Angel Reese finally got a win over Kaitlyn Clark.
Reese played his best game as a pro, recording a career-high 25 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Sky to a close 88-87 victory over the Fever on Sunday in Chicago.
Reese, 22, broke the tie with a layup with 53 seconds left and finished with 10 points and five rebounds in the fourth quarter, extending her career WNBA rookie record with her eighth consecutive double-double.
The Sky (6-9) trailed by 12 with 6:38 left in the fourth quarter but outscored the Fever 18-5 over the remainder of the game to end Indiana’s four-game winning streak.
Indiana (7-11) has won the first two meetings between these teams this season.
Clark scored 17 points and set a team record with 13 assists, but did not take a shot in the final two minutes, missing his final attempt, a 3-pointer with 2:19 left to tie the score at 84-84.
The No. 1 draft pick also recorded six rebounds and four steals.

Reese was called for a flagrant foul after hitting Clark in the head during last Sunday’s game, but he made 8 of 12 field goals and 9 of 11 free throws.
Sky guard Chennedy Carter, who committed a flagrant foul on Clark for a blindside hip check in the first meeting between the two teams, finished with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting and five assists.
Clark appeared to escape Sunday’s game unscathed, but there was bad blood between Reese and Fever forward NaLyssa Smith throughout the match, and both players were called for technicals with 3:12 left in the fourth period after an altercation.
