Angel Reese Achieves Triple-Double Amid On-Court Tensions

In a standout performance on Sunday, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese recorded the first triple-double of her career during a game against the Connecticut Sun. However, it wasn’t without some intense moments on the court.

During the third quarter, Reese was vying for a rebound alongside Connecticut Sunguard Bria Hartley. In the heat of the play, Reese reached for the ball but felt frustrated when Hartley pulled on her hair. To defuse the situation, Connecticut forward Olivia Nelson-Ododa stepped in, but Reese responded emphatically.

Another angle of the incident highlighted how Hartley had actually grasped Reese’s hair as she jumped for the rebound, which added to the tension. Veteran Tina Charles from the Sun also got involved, and it appeared Reese was letting her know about the hair-pulling. Both players received technical fouls as a result.

After all the drama, the Chicago Sky ended up pulling away with a 78-66 victory, marking their third win of the season. Reese finished the game with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists, illustrating her all-around contribution. She shot two-for-seven from the field but made all seven of her free throws.

Haley Van Lith, a rookie for the Sky, led the team’s scoring with 16 points off the bench.

For the Connecticut Sun, who now have a record of 2-8 this season, Marina Mabry was the top scorer with 22 points and five rebounds, while Charles contributed 19 points and pulled down six rebounds.
