Angel Reese was courtside in London mingling with NBA stars.
The Chicago Sky rookie star was sitting in the front row at The O2 Arena on Tuesday — between the Suns’ Kevin Durant and the Warriors’ Stephen Curry — cheering on the U.S. women’s basketball team as they beat Germany, 84-57, in their final exhibition game before taking on the Olympic stage.
Reiss, who changed into a pink Balenciaga outfit before slipping into a black dress, and NBA stars playing for the men’s team in Paris watched the U.S. get off to a strong start, taking a 22-9 lead over Germany, who were making their Olympic debut in women’s basketball.
Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson recorded a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Liberty Olympic veteran Breanna Stewart had 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas had eight points, seven rebounds and four assists.
“We need to continue to make sure we start the third quarter better every game,” U.S. forward Stewart said. “This is a tune-up game. We don’t want to peak too early.”
The players were eager to bounce back after losing to a WNBA all-star team featuring Reese and Caitlin Clark last weekend in Phoenix.
As the first rookies to be selected as All-Stars since 2014, Reese and Clark were the seventh and first picks, respectively, in the 2024 WNBA Draft and combined forces on the WNBA All-Star team that defeated Team USA, 117-109.
The LSU product, who set a WNBA record with 15 consecutive double-doubles, had a great game off the bench with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Fever’s superstar guard finished with a game-high 10 assists (five of which came in the second quarter), four points and two steals in 26 minutes, tying her for second all-time in assists recorded in a WNBA All-Star Game.
The WNBA season will resume on Aug. 15 after the Olympic break.
The U.S. team will begin its group stage play against Japan on July 29 at 3 p.m. ET, and will next face Belgium on August 1.
The rematch against Germany is scheduled for August 4.
