Angel Reese Threatens WNBA with Strike Unless Contract Demands Met

Chicago Skystar Angel Reese warns the WNBA that players are ready to strike unless the league agrees to a contract request.

Reese made her declaration On a podcast alongside Dallas Wings player DiJonai Carrington. Secondary angelsreported on Friday by Yahoo Sports.

On the show, Reese cried out, “If we don't give us what we want, we're sitting there.”

The next collective bargaining contract period will begin in 2026 after players decide to opt out of their current CBA in 2027.

It is true that the WNBA games ratings have jumped just like those in the game thanks mainly to Indiana Fever's Kate Linklark, but the Women's National Basketball League has not yet made a profit.

For example, last October, it was reported that the NBA, which subsidizes women's professional basketball, would lose between $40 million and $50 million. Since helping the Men's Basketball League find it in 1996, he has never made a profit from his investment in the WNBA.

The Washington Post reported that the WNBA has lost an average of more than $10 million since its launch. In comparison, the NBA earns around $10 billion a year.
