Many suspected the Chicago Sky would again resort to bullying tactics and obvious, flagrant fouls in their rematch against the Caitlin Clark-led Indiana Fever.
The answer is yes, yes you would.
Late in the third quarter in a close game between the longtime rivals, Caitlin Clark drove to the basket to extend her team’s lead, but her scoring attempt was thwarted by a forearm strike to the head by Angel Reese.

The foul was initially ruled a general foul, but the officials upgraded it to a Flagrant 1 after review. Honestly, this is pure malice. Reese wasn’t even pretending to go for the ball here. She was clearly chasing Clark to thwart a drive to the basket.
Clark shook it off and made both of the free throws she was awarded, so she deserves credit for that. But one wonders how much longer the WNBA will tolerate this predatory behavior. Because of the rivalry between Clark and Reese, and the egregious foul Chicago’s Chennedy Carter committed on Clark two weeks ago, this game will be a monster.

That means at the very least, a near-record crowd will witness the WNBA allow its most marketable and exciting player, Kaitlyn Clark, to fall victim to a bunch of bad boys.
Either way, Angel Reese picked up her fifth personal foul and the Sky trailed 72-66 with seven minutes left.
