Griffin III Sheds Light on Reese’s Feelings Toward Clark
Robert Griffin III has shared his thoughts on the dynamic between Angel Reese and Caitlyn Clark, suggesting there’s more to their relationship than they let on.
Although both athletes try to minimize their rivalry, tensions flared during Saturday’s Feversky Games. The action picked up in the third quarter when Clark committed a significant foul against Reese.
With a clear path to the basket, Reese was fouled by Clark, who seemed intent on stopping her. Angered, Reese rolled onto the court and quickly expressed her frustration toward Clark.
After witnessing the incident, RG3 took to social media, stating, “After seeing Caitlin Clark’s foul on Angel Reese and the aftermath, we can’t continue lying that Angel Reese doesn’t hate Caitlin Clark.” His post garnered around 7 million views by Sunday morning. He added, “I know what hatred looks like. Angel Reese hates Caitlyn Clark. I don’t hate basketball rivals. I hate them.”
Clark, following her team’s 93-58 home win, defended her actions, claiming there was no “malicious” intent behind her foul.
“Don’t do anything that isn’t,” Clark stated post-game. “It was just a good play in basketball. I don’t know why the officials saw it differently. I wasn’t trying to do anything harmful.” She further expressed that, based on her experience in the game, she views it as just part of the sport.
Reese, however, seemed to brush off the foul discussion amidst a disappointing loss. “It was just a basketball play. The refs made their call,” she remarked shortly after.
In terms of performance, Clark led her team with an impressive triple-double, scoring 20 points, along with 10 assists, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals, while successfully sinking half of her three-point attempts. Meanwhile, Reese contributed 12 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for her team.
