Angela Rye on Trump and the Upcoming Election
In a recent interview, former CNN commentator Angela Rye expressed her hope that Donald Trump will run for president in the 2024 election.
During the last election, Trump won the Electoral College and received over 77 million votes, while current Vice President Kamala Harris notably gained support from voters. According to Rye, this situation leads to the emergence of various conspiracy theories, as she feels that the elections are being questioned. She mentioned this on “The Breakfast Club.”
Rye elaborated on her feelings, saying, “I think that black women and the Holy Spirit have a close connection, and there’s a sense of exhaustion regarding the pain we feel. It all started the day after the election when we were together.” She feels there’s a significant disconnect in the narrative surrounding the election results, particularly pointing out irregularities in places like Clark County, Nevada.
She raises a pertinent question: why did Trump claim back in January that he knew how to operate local Pennsylvania machines better than anyone else? Rye expresses skepticism about his statements, suggesting they seem to hint at something untoward about his election victory.
In addition, left-leaning media commentators have already suggested that the 2026 midterm elections may favor Republicans, partly referencing Trump’s substantial legislative efforts, such as the so-called “big, beautiful bill.”
Former MSNBC host Joy Reid shared her thoughts on this matter, stating, “Honestly, it’s a bit insane to think we can have a normal election next year.” She emphasized her lack of concern about the Republicans actually facing re-election.
Recently, Trump signed the Sweep Act, which extends the 2017 tax cuts permanently, fulfilling his commitment to remove taxes on tips and overtime pay and increase the child tax credit to $2,200.
This has raised alarms among Democrats, who warn that the alterations to Medicaid benefits could have dire consequences for many Americans.
