Angie Harmon accused an Instacart delivery driver of shooting and killing her family’s dog in a social media post shared on Monday.

The fatal shooting of Harmon’s dog Oliver occurred over Easter weekend, shortly after a man delivered an order to the “Rizzoli & Isles” star’s home.

“He got out of his car, delivered the food, then shot our dog,” Harmon wrote on Instagram. “Our Ring camera was charging inside the house and he looked at it and realized he wasn’t being recorded.”

According to the actress, the delivery driver claimed “self-defense” and was released by police.

“He didn’t have any scratches or bite marks and his pants weren’t torn,” she claimed.

“He was shopping under the identity of a woman named Merle…The photo is in my story,” she added. Harmon shared a screenshot of the delivery confirmation, which included a photo of the woman.

“He shot our dog at home with my daughters and I, and just kept saying, ‘Oh, I shot your dog, oh, I did it,'” she explained. . “We are completely traumatized and devastated by the loss of our beloved boy and family.”

A representative for Mr. Harmon did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Instacart has suspended the delivery driver’s profile and is working with authorities to investigate, a spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Instacart said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened and upset to hear of this incident.” “We do not condone violence of any kind and the shopper’s account was immediately suspended from our platform. We are in direct contact with the customer and cooperating with law enforcement investigations.”

A spokesperson for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told Fox News Digital that authorities investigated the March 30 incident, but no charges were filed.

“Upon arrival, officers located and contacted all involved,” the spokesperson said. “The investigation revealed that a delivery driver arrived at the residence to deliver supplies. The driver told officers that while at the residence, he was attacked by a dog and fired one shot from his gun. “He said he defended himself by hitting the dog and fatally injuring it.” Another dog was in the residence, but did not attack. ”

CMPD Animal Control also responded to the scene.

Harmon’s celebrity friends also commented and shared their support.

“This is unbelievable!” wrote Paulina Porizkova. “I don’t even know how to react to this.”

“Oh my god, it’s incredibly scary…” Allison Janney added. “I can’t even imagine. I’m stunned.”

Harmon’s followers encouraged him to “take a stand,” with one user writing, “Use your network and media to destroy this man and file charges.” [sic] Against the police who do nothing.If so [sic] Pulling out the gun right away [sic] It’s only a matter of time before he does it again or does it to people.”
