Angus King Takes Aim at Musk and Lutnick Over Their ‘Attack’ on Social Security!

Senator Angus King (I-Maine) mentioned on Monday that he was involved in “assembly” regarding social security, focusing on wealthy tech moguls Elon Musk and Howard Lutnick’s secretaries in commerce.

“I never expected to say this, but Social Security is under attack,” King remarked. I expressed in a video shared on x.

“Every day, Elon Musk and his affiliates are accessing the Social Security database, where we discover something concerning. They are attempting to obtain personal details. They are sidelining the professionals employed there. Individuals are being dismissed. Local branches are shutting down,” he elaborated.

King, who is collaborating with Democrats, mentioned that Lutnick had proposed just last week that “Social Security had indicated ‘if they didn’t issue their check this month’ and that ‘the 94-year-old stepmother would not reach out to complain’.”

The billionaire entrepreneur stated on his podcast: “I believe something is wrong. She’ll receive it next month. The con artists tend to make the loudest commotion, shout, shout, and grumble.”

Nonetheless, King indicated that the typical American does not share the same experience as Lutnick’s stepmother.

“Unfortunately, there are people across the nation. If that check fails to arrive, they are in jeopardy,” King said in a video on Monday. “Medication, food, housing; for millions in this country, social security payments are critical.

“What concerns me is that we are witnessing a sort of gradual decline. In reality, it’s not slow; it’s quite rapid – and it’s eroding the foundation of social security,” he continued.

His remarks follow the comments from the masks Trump chose to steer government efficiency, referred to earlier this month as the “greatest Ponzi scheme in history,” hinting at the prospect of significant cuts targeting waste within the qualification program.

This rhetoric has sparked backlash from professionals and advocates who have accused Trump’s allies of disseminating misleading claims about the actual level of fraud in the program.

Trump has pledged not to reduce Social Security benefits.

Lutnick asserted on Thursday that he was against increasing the retirement age. This is an approach Republicans have brought to Congress as a means to ensure the program’s solvency.
