Ann-Margret, 82, still rides her Harley-Davidson: ‘I love speed’

At 82 years old, Ann-Margret lives a life of upheaval.

The Bye Bye Birdie and Viva Las Vegas actress recently attended the Women’s Image Network’s 25th Annual Women’s Image Awards in Beverly Hills and revealed that one of her secrets to staying young is wearing a Harley. He revealed himself as Davidson.

“It’s lavender with white daisies everywhere,” the star gushed to People magazine. “There [are] Flowers are decorated on the back and front fenders. …I love speed. It’s not a drug. ”

The actor told the outlet that he has no plans to slow down after a decades-long career in Hollywood. Ann-Margret told how she took dance lessons early in her life to prove to her parents that she was born to entertain.

She was born Ann Margaret Olson in Sweden in 1941 and immigrated to the United States as a child. During her college years, Ann-Margret performed in nightclubs while focusing on her studies during her day.

“I remember wanting to be in show business for the rest of my life,” Ann-Margret told the magazine. “I remember one day saying to my mom and dad, ‘I want to talk to you about something.’ That’s something that’s very, very important to me, so I want to go into show business.”

She said she received her parents’ blessings. She was eventually discovered by comedian George Burns and given the opportunity to appear on his Las Vegas show. She quickly shot to the top of the box office charts.

In May, Ann-Margret told Fox News Digital that she still rides a Harley.

“My father was the one who inspired me to ride a bike,” she explained at the time. “He had a couple of motorcycles before he met my mother. One was Indian and the other was BSA. And my uncle, my mother’s younger brother, had a big motorcycle. 10 When I was a year old, I used to ride with him on the back of his bike. …He took me to the Norwegian border and we were going into Norway. How could I forget that bike? do not have.

“The speed, the bad weather, the wind and rain, sleet and hail, I get so excited just talking about it. It’s very interesting to see. It’s lavender and daisies. It’s very unique.”

In the 60s, Ann-Margret became a popular sex symbol, and she had no qualms about the title.

“I was so happy,” she laughed. “The idea that someone would come up to me and say, ‘Hey, I think you’re sexy.’ Oh, what’s not to love?”

But before sparks flew with the hip-swivel icon, Ann-Margret appeared alongside Pat Boone at the 1962 “State Fair.” In one steamy scene, the entertainer, who is known for her squeaky clean image, made her heart skip a beat as she teased the entertainer.

“It was on his left shoulder!” she said proudly. “Actually, I met him here in Los Angeles two days ago. And of course I reminded him of it. And here we go again! He said, ‘Thank you.’ I did. he loved it. ”

Life continues to be an adventure for Ann-Margret. She wouldn’t have it any other way for her.

“I have a lot of energy. It’s not in a bottle,” she boasted. “I’m really happy that my mom and dad gave me great energy. And there’s no negativity here. … They instilled in me all these great things that I still carry with me. You don’t complain about things. You just go out and do what you love. And I feel blessed with the life I’ve been given.”
