Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican congresswoman from Florida, claims someone tried to trick her into leaking information that would damage her campaign, then bombarded her with sexist and anti-Semitic messages.
Fox News Digital According to the report: The activity may be linked to liberal groups that have also targeted Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and may have targeted other Republicans as well.
“Violence in politics is never acceptable and should never be tolerated.”
Luna then mentioned the apparent plan. Posts X claimed she was being harassed by a political opponent who had encouraged people to send packages to her personal address.
She later told Fox that someone had texted her in July, falsely claiming to be chief of staff to Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. The person appeared to be trying to get Luna to talk about an opposition investigation, then began yelling insults.
“APL you're so clever but you still lose. At least you still have the fake boobs,” one message read.
“Fake smile. Fake life. Fake Jew,” said what appeared to be another message. “If you were a real Jew you wouldn't be messaging on the Sabbath.”
Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado said her staff received a similar message in July from someone claiming to be Abbott's chief of staff and tried to arrange a meeting with a representative.
“The people involved in this shady organization are habitually engaged in mentally deviant behavior and have the potential to cause harm if given the opportunity,” Boebert told Fox. “These tragic, obsessive stalkers should be placed on law enforcement watch lists.”
Luna believes the operation was orchestrated by a group of liberal political action committees, based on documents he released about his interactions with Gaetz.
“Unfortunately, I am one of the most targeted members of parliament for violence – I have received threats and had items sent to my office. Violence in politics is never acceptable and should never be tolerated. Women parliamentarians are the most targeted for violence and harassment,” she wrote to X.
Fox News Digital reported that the PAC did not respond to a request for comment, and no one responded to messages left at the number during the operation against Luna.
