Rep. Anna Paulina Luna’s Critique of Democratic Socialists

In a recent appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) addressed the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and criticized Angie Nixon, Florida’s Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, who aligns herself with the DSA.

Luna labeled the DSA as an organization that embraces rhetoric against white people, describing it as racist and, in some situations, antisemitic.

During the segment, guest host Jason Chaffetz pointed out that Republicans are currently well-funded, holding over 100 million dollars, while he suggested that Democrats are deeply in debt. He noted, however, that it’s essential to consider the non-governmental organizations that play a role in elections. He wasn’t claiming this was the case with Nixon’s situation but implied that Democrats might still have substantial financial backing. He found it remarkable that Nixon triumphed in her race despite being outspent significantly, 16 to 1, and questioned how her campaign might compare to that of Ashley Moody and her vision.

Luna responded by stating that Florida voters prefer common sense solutions. She highlighted the success of Byron Donalds in the governor’s downballot race against David Jolly and expressed her prediction that Nixon’s nomination would galvanize Republican voters who oppose her extreme policies. Luna also emphasized that the DSA’s platform is notably anti-white and racist, referencing candidates from New York who have made both anti-white and antisemitic statements that, curiously, seem to go unchallenged socially.

Moreover, Luna found it amusing to see David Jolly attempting to distance himself from Nixon. She mentioned the internal conflict within the Florida Democratic Party, particularly between Nixon and party chair Nikki Fried, who reportedly criticized Nixon as too radical, suggesting it would jeopardize their electoral chances. Luna believes that regardless of the individual races, the overarching narrative is that moderate Democrats are becoming increasingly rare, with organizations like the DSA drawing support away from them, backed by funding she claims has ties to China.
