Anna Wintour's Greenwich Village neighborhood is filled with homeless camps.

This block is stealing the spotlight—though not in a good way!

Residents and workers are expressing their frustration as Anna Wintour’s upscale Greenwich Village neighborhood has turned into a makeshift shelter for the homeless, who have set up camp outdoors. This situation escalated after The Post highlighted a specific individual, known as “Tiger”—a character often seen smoking pot, drinking, and dancing, thanks to his distinctive orange-striped tail.

A collection of makeshift furniture—chairs, storage boxes, books, and even bedding—has gathered in front of closed shops along Sullivan Street, which lies between East Houston and Bleecker streets, nearby Wintour’s multimillion-dollar townhouse nestled in a historic area.

According to neighbors, the group is not only drinking at all hours; they’re also using drugs, defecating in public, lounging around without clothes, and occasionally harassing pedestrians.

Since the previous report on Tiger during July 4, there have been nearly 50 complaints related to the encampments, alongside several calls for assistance from homeless individuals, as public records indicate.

A concerned father living on Sullivan Street described the scene as chaotic, filled with aggressive and strung-out individuals. He requested anonymity due to fears of retaliation from the encampment’s occupants.

This local also noted an instance where, in clear view of Wintour’s lavish residence, a man was openly using drugs while sprawled out on the street.

“Every day just feels like it’s getting worse,” he lamented, pointing out that his two children have had distressing run-ins with the encampment.

“One time, Tiger chased my son, randomly. Luckily, my son is quick and managed to get away,” he explained, visibly upset. His daughter also had an awkward encounter when she unexpectedly saw Tiger naked on her way to school.

“She went home and said, ‘Oh my God, I saw everything!’ I try to downplay it, saying it’s just a body, but honestly, it’s tough,” he admitted, adding that the situation has spiraled out of control, despite understanding the legal constraints faced by officers.

Wintour, who purchased her property for $1.4 million back in 1992, has yet to respond to inquiries about the situation.

An employee at a nearby café mentioned that they’ve called the police multiple times regarding the encampments that have made their storefront area littered with trash.

“It started with just Tiger, but now it’s a whole crowd—his girlfriend, some guys nearby, and others just around the corner,” said Eric Minchan, who described various incidents, including one where someone defecated at the entrance of a neighboring shop.

What’s particularly disheartening, he noted, is the assistance these individuals receive from some local residents. He recounted how, recently, he witnessed a wealthy woman picking up Tiger and coming back with bags of supplies for him.

Another man in a BMW seems to be forming friendships within the group, possibly providing them with warnings when police are approaching, Minchan speculated. “While the police appear more frequently now, it seems like they get tipped off and just vanish before anything can be done,” he added.

Some longtime residents expressed a longing for the past when they felt a stronger sense of order, even reminiscing about the mafia’s presence in the neighborhood.

“When the mafia was around, they kept things in check—made sure everyone played by the rules,” said Norm, who withheld his last name. “Honestly, I think the police should take a page out of their playbook.”
