Remembrance of Anne Burrell by a Friend
A recent Instagram post by chef Elizabeth Faulkner offers a heartfelt tribute to the late Food Network star, Anne Burrell. Accompanied by joyful photos of the pair in the kitchen, Faulkner shared her thoughts about their last encounter.
In her message, Faulkner, known for her appearances on shows like “Iron Chef America” and “Top Chef,” mentioned that she had just reconnected with Burrell the previous week in New York. They had made a promise to meet up more often.
Posting on Instagram can feel a bit strange, she admitted. Yet, Faulkner expressed her admiration for Burrell and the food they both loved. She reminisced about their time together during the filming of “The Next Iron Chef,” describing Burrell as a “fierce and fun culinary competitor.” “We just sang a few songs and laughed,” she recalled fondly.
Last week, their reunion was meaningful for Faulkner, who said, “It was very good to see her,” adding that she felt grateful for Burrell’s presence at her dinner. They had promised to strengthen their friendship from that point on.
As reported earlier, Burrell was found unresponsive at her Brooklyn home at the age of 55. Her family has described her as “a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend,” and highlighted how her smile could brighten any room.
“Anne’s light radiates far beyond those she knows, touching millions of people around the world,” her family shared in a statement, confirming the sorrowful news. They noted that while she is no longer with us, her spirit and love will remain.
Although the exact cause of Burrell’s death hasn’t been disclosed, a New York City Fire Department spokesperson mentioned that the 911 caller may have reported a cardiac arrest. Just a week prior, Burrell had shared a candid selfie on Instagram, looking healthy and vibrant.
Burrell is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in October 2021, along with her son-in-law, Javier.
