Anne Wilson Inspires as She Opens for Morgan Wallen in Seattle

This past weekend, country music enthusiasts in Seattle experienced not only the electrifying performances of Morgan Wallen, but also a touch of inspiration from CCM and country artist Anne Wilson. She kicked off the show, sharing her heartfelt songs and personal story with the audience. “God really writes the best stories of our lives. Only he could have put me at that stage,” Wilson shared with the crowd, reflecting on her journey.

At just 23, Wilson opened for Wallen during two shows at Lumen Field, which accommodates approximately 65,000 fans. Excitingly, she’s also set to perform in Santa Clara, California, on August 1-2.

Wilson burst onto the music scene with her 2021 hit my Jesus, and she has since seen 17 other tracks appear on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs Chart. Notable hits include Strong, God and the Kingdom and The Story of God. She’s collaborated with fellow country artist Rainey Wilson on this journey.

Her music beautifully marries country roots with gospel messages, and her upcoming album, Rebel, recently soared to the top of the Billboard Country album chart. Last year, she also received a CMT Music Award nomination for groundbreaking female video of the year for her song Rain in the Back View.

“I’m so excited. This is a dream come true for me,” she mentioned in a video before her first performance. “Looking back, I can see God’s faithfulness that brought me to this moment. At just 23, I can see what He’s done in my short life. It’s truly a story of 100% God.”

Wallen is one of her favorite artists, so she expressed that it was an “honor” to open for him. “I can only see God’s goodness and His faithfulness,” she remarked.

“I love being able to reach a larger audience to share the gospel,” Wilson added. She finds it incredible that her songs are being played on country radio, and it excites her to spread the message of Jesus and the hope He brings.

Fans were clearly moved by her performance. One expressed on Instagram, “Amazing performance! Tears ran down my face as you sang and praised!” Another mentioned, “Your music really makes me feel Jesus in your set. I love you, Anne!” A third fan, who attended with her daughter, noted, “We had the night of our lives.”

Wilson has mentioned in past interviews how grateful she is for opportunities like this, seeking to share her faith with a wider audience.
