Former Biden Aide Files Fifth Complaint on Mental Decline

Annie Tomasini, who previously served as an assistant to President Joe Biden, has lodged her fifth complaint regarding concerns about Biden’s mental state, as reported by House superintendent James Kommer on Friday.

In her role as Biden’s former assistant and deputy director of Oval Office Operations, she is involved with the investigation under the Fifth Amendment regarding potential self-incrimination violations. Kommer commented on this situation, suggesting there’s a pattern among Biden’s close associates attempting to shield themselves from criminal implications related to a potential conspiracy.

In a post on X, Comer remarked, “The third witness in our investigation into President Biden’s cognitive issues has invoked the Fifth Amendment today.” He noted the ongoing strategy among Biden’s confidants to protect themselves legally.

Comer highlighted that Tomasini invoked the Fifth Amendment when questioned about whether Biden, his family, or White House personnel advised her to misrepresent his health at any time. He also indicated that questions about whether she had instructed Biden on managing sensitive documents remained unanswered, which he found concerning.

The chairman expressed disbelief at Tomasini and other witnesses refusing to address inquiries regarding their capacity to serve, which he deemed incredible. Earlier in the week, Tomasini sought a subpoena for a scheduled transcribed interview, becoming the third individual to assert her Fifth Amendment rights throughout this inquiry.

Additionally, Comer stated that Tomasini and others, including former chief of staff Anthony Bernal, are allegedly “interfering” on behalf of Biden as questions about his health emerge. Tomasini’s involvement has come under scrutiny in light of a book suggesting that these associates shielded Biden from discussions about his mental condition.

Bernal also claimed the Fifth Amendment during his closed-door deposition before the committee. Interestingly, Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s former physician, was the first to invoke this right in a deposition earlier this month.
