Overflow Crowd at Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Event

Blaze News has reported that a significant number of supporters attending Charlie Kirk’s memorial were directed to a second arena due to overwhelming turnout.

In the early hours of the morning, around 4 AM, thousands of Kirk’s supporters gathered at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, for an event titled “Legacy: Remembering Charlie Kirk.”

Initially, estimates suggested that the crowd could have been over 100,000, considering that NFL stadiums can accommodate upwards of 78,000, including standing areas. However, as more people continued to arrive, the estimates surged to about 300,000.

The Blaze News team was present at the event and observed that the area outside the stadium was filled with a massive audience, while the nearby desert diamond arena was also packed with participants coming to pay their respects.

The arena, which used to be home to the Arizona Coyotes NHL team until 2022, holds a capacity of about 19,000. Today, it hosts professional bull riding, as well as indoor football teams like the Arizona Rattlers.

Outside the venue, attendees shared their thoughts and memories of Kirk. One fan remarked, “He was always willing to listen and really cared about what others had to say.”

Another attendee expressed, “I just think what happened is really heartbreaking and wrong.”

Jose Miguel Santiago, a spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department, mentioned that security measures were extensive, akin to those prepared for the Super Bowl, indicating a “all hands-on deck” approach, similar to their preparations for the 2023 Super Bowl LVII.
