Another awakening disaster is underway in the Canadian province of Quebec, perpetrated by the usual suspects.
Unknown 9: Awakening was developed by reflector entertainmentis backed by Japanese studio Bandai Namco. The iconic Japanese brand that brought Pac-Man and Tekken to audiences is going to have to do some soul searching as its latest venture has quickly gone down the drain.
After its release on October 18th, Unknown 9: Awakening reached a disappointing peak of 276 concurrent players on the gaming platform. steam.
Industry and fan accounts estimate the game's budget to be between $80 million and $120 million, based on studio size and similar projects, with some writers saying embarrassing performance Even at large retail stores.
Some predicted the game would fail from the beginning after learning that video game consulting firm Sweet Baby Inc. was heavily involved in the project.
Sweet Baby Inc. has painfully added unnecessary DEI and woke aspects to popular games like Spider-Man 2 and God of War Ragnarok, and has become synonymous with storylines centered around diversity.
The company denounced those who criticize its political interference as “far-right” adversaries and said they were the subject of “harassment” campaigns and “disinformation.”
DEI detected on industry website reported Sweet Baby Inc. founder Kim Belair is listed as the new game's “story architect.”
Also credited is David Bedard, Brand Content Manager at Reflector. Gamers may recognize him as the co-founder of Sweet Baby Inc. So it's no surprise that a consulting firm was hired for the game.
“I’m excited for people to feel empowered by this character.”

Actress Anya Chalotra, who stars in the Netflix series The Witcher, will play the main character Haruna in the game. Prior to the game's release, Chalotra said it was the most “diverse” game he had ever seen, perhaps putting the final nail in the coffin.
“I hope people feel empowered by this character, who is very grounded and inspired by something outside of themselves, something bigger than themselves.” she said. CG Magazine.
She added, “I don't think I've ever seen such a diverse connection to a game, with so many voices and that kind of exploration.”

Chalotra also rhetorically connected the game with her Indian heritage. ask“Why don't I want to play this character?”
“That part of me, my Indian heritage, that part of me for this Indian woman. But beyond that, there's a real sense of groundedness and authenticity that she has, and I got that from my family. I feel it and I feel it because of me.'' I hope that grounds her. ”
All the authenticity and variety didn't help Unknown 9: Awakening. It failed even faster than Sony's Concord, with fans deriding the game's forced DEI elements, including a robot with pronouns, and it was pulled from shelves after just two weeks.
But while developers may be able to rejoice in the fact that they didn't lose as much as Warner Bros. Studios, the company still managed to make its game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League a mockery to fans. This is because the company suffered a huge blow of $200 million.
