National Anthems Kick Off Game 7 of World Series

Pia Toscano and Noah Reed wowed the audience on Saturday night as they performed the national anthems of their respective countries prior to the first pitch of Game 7 in the World Series.

Toscano, known from “American Idol,” sang “The Star-Spangled Banner,” while Reed, who holds dual citizenship in the United States and Canada, delivered a heartfelt rendition of “O Canada.”

“See you tonight! Game 7 of the World Series!” Toscano shared on her Instagram Stories, expressing her honor in performing the U.S. national anthem.

Reed also shared a snapshot from the field at Rogers Center, writing, “So honored to sing ‘O Canada’ tonight at Game 7 of the World Series. Anyone who knows me knows my unconditional love for the Blue Jays. I am so proud of this team, this city, and this country—it’s truly an honor to be part of this historic moment. Let’s Go Blue Jays!!!!”

Players and coaches from both teams stood solemnly with their hats over their hearts during the performances.

The Blue Jays almost clinched a victory in Game 6 the previous night, but a comeback effort fell short when the Dodgers managed to reverse a critical double play in the ninth inning.

Toronto is hoping for its first World Series title since 1993, while Los Angeles aims for back-to-back championships, a feat last achieved by the New York Yankees in 1999 and 2000.
