Anthony Edwards’ ridiculous poster jam ended up injuring Jazz’s John Collins

John Collins suffered a head contusion after falling to the wrong side of Anthony Edwards’ dunk.

The Jazz forward escaped a concussion, but is suffering from a head injury. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported late Monday night.

As soon as Edwards threw a one-handed jam to Collins, the iconic slam dunk went viral, eliciting a roar from the Delta Center crowd and the entire Timberwolves bench standing.

Collins tried to contest a dunk on the fastbreak, but was run over by Edwards, who pushed the ball into the net with such force that he dislocated his finger.

It wasn’t clear from replays whether Edwards caught Collins with part of his leg on the dunk.

Collins apparently grabbed his head after a dunk and was removed from the game in the fourth quarter.

Immediately after his dunk with less than five-and-a-half minutes left in the third quarter, Edwards looked down at his hands.

Edwards finally reacted after the game when he saw the dunk on the Bally Sports broadcast monitor.

The T-Wolves star squealed as he watched the dunk, according to a video posted by Star Tribune reporter Chris Hine.

“oh my god,” Edwards said in a clip posted to X.. “That was the best dunk of my career, I’m not going to lie. … I couldn’t even react because I dislocated his finger.”
