Actor Anthony Head Passes Away at 72
Anthony Head, the renowned actor famous for his roles in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Ted Lasso,” has died at the age of 72.
His daughters, Emily and Daisy Head, shared the news on Friday with the Press Association, as reported by Irish News. They stated, “He passed away peacefully from complications due to pneumonia, surrounded by his family.”
In their heartfelt tribute, the sisters expressed, “It has been, and forever will be, an honor and a privilege to be his daughters, and to have witnessed firsthand the impact both he and his work have had on so many.” They highlighted their father’s kindness and passion for his craft.
Emily and Daisy emphasized how much he will be missed by friends, colleagues, and fans alike. “He loved his job very much,” they wrote, “and he always considered himself incredibly lucky to have worked alongside such exceptionally talented people in wonderful productions over a career that spanned several decades.”
Head’s extensive filmography includes titles like “A Street Cat Named Bob,” “Persuasion,” and “Repo! The Genetic Opera.”
His passing comes less than six months after the death of his long-term partner, Sarah Fisher, who was 61. She was the mother of his daughters.
In their statement, his daughters reflected on their loss: “Our grief is far greater than the hole he has left behind, but we know his legacy will live on, both in the shows he was a part of and in the audiences that love them.” They concluded with a reminder of their fortune: “How lucky we are to know we are able to watch him doing what he loved, even when he is no longer with us.”
