Anthony Hopkins is excited about the future.
In an interview with People magazine, Hopkins, 86, spoke about his age and how it relates to landing acting jobs in Hollywood.
“I know when I'm dying,” he told the outlet. “Realistically, I know that if I can work for a few more years, I can do it. That's why my work keeps me alive. I love my job. I love being an actor. I also love doing that.”

“I love the process of preparing for a role. It keeps my brain neurologically active. I love that.”

The two-time Oscar winner said he was “very lucky” to be able to continue working. Hopkins won his first Academy Award in 1992 for The Silence of the Lambs and his second Academy Award in 2021 for The Father.
Hopkins will star in the 2023 film “Freud's Last Season'' and will appear as a voice actor in Netflix's “Rebel Moon Part 2: Scargiver'' in April.

“I'm really lucky to be able to work at my age,” Hopkins said. “They still seem to send me scripts, and I'm like, 'Sure.'”
As Hopkins gets older, he becomes less selective about which films he appears in.
“I’ll take anything,” he said. “I don't really have a choice, no.”
Hopkins has made his health a priority and said he is in a “peaceful state” in his mid-80s.
“I just had a medical checkup. I feel fine,” he said, adding that he has made some lifestyle changes and cut out sugar from his diet.

“I didn't eat junk food, but I liked sweets. And I stopped. I've had enough. I don't even eat honey anymore. But no, I feel healthier. I wake up “I feel like it was,” he explained.
Hopkins will also prioritize rest.
“I go to bed early,” the “Hannibal” actor revealed.

“I love British detective stories on TV,” Hopkins continued. “It's very well done. There's always scenes of people partying and dancing. And I looked at them and thought, 'What?' I thought, “That's what I used to do.'' I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. I couldn't do that. ”

He describes this chapter of his life as filled with “moments of relaxation and bliss”, which he attributes largely to his wife of 20 years, Stella, 67.

In his spare time, Hopkins enjoys playing the piano, drawing, and filming “ridiculous” TikTok and Instagram videos, which he was persuaded to do by his wife and niece.

“I'm a little reluctant,” he admitted. “I say, “Oh, no more.'' “But I do stupid things because I need humor. Life needs laughter. It's for a good reason.'' “I think life is tough. The world is an uncharted place, but there is beauty in life.”
