The feud between Anthony Kim and Brandel Chamblee has officially exploded.
The LIV Golf star, who returned to professional golf this year after a 12-year hiatus, and the Golf Channel commentator have engaged in a bitter spat for the second time in a month, with animosity between the two appearing to be growing.
Kim (38 years old) recently “Country Club Adjacent” Podcast He criticized people like Chamblee, saying they were “bad for golf” and that “he’s talking about things he knows nothing about.”
He cited Kim’s comments on the Golf Channel show that Chamblee was sitting next to David Duval, who has played in two Ryder Cups for the United States, and had been talking at length about what the Ryder Cup was all about.
“How would you know? You have David Duval, who’s ranked No. 1 in the world, played on multiple Ryder Cup teams, holds a ton of records, won a million championships, and you’re over-talking him about what it’s like, how they feel,” Kim said of Chamblee. “If we were talking about, say, driving to a Korn Ferry event and missing the cut, we’d call you, Blundell. But we don’t do that.”
Chamblee, 61, who has one PGA Tour win under his belt, hit back in an X-post early Sunday morning, slamming Kim for joining Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf.
“To make sure his pointless drivel isn’t twisted to make sense, and for context, I’ve been on tour for about a decade longer than @AnthonyKim_Golf and have had more career top 10s than him,” Chamblee wrote. “I understand and sympathize with his failures, but his irrational calculations seem to ignore the fact that he was willing to sacrifice his talent for the convenience of an insurance payout, then betray that payout to the convenience of a dictatorial killer who would pay him to cover up his atrocities. I wish Anthony the best of luck, but let’s not pretend he knows the difference between north and south, disability pay and cover-up pay, or, for that matter, that he’s ever heard of Jamal Khashoggi.”
Kim criticized Chamblee, who has previously criticized LIV Golf players for receiving Saudi Arabian funding, on “X” on May 10 after Chamblee spoke in support of a deal to cooperate between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
“Rumble Chamblee @chambleebrandel, it’s so funny how you hypocritically back away when you’re pounding your chest and telling yourself never to back away,” Kim wrote. “It’s well known that this talentless fool is hated by most of the golf world. Are you still gonna cover golf when @livgolf_league gets involved? 🤡 😂”
In a lengthy response, Chamblee said Kim’s tweet “is a big deal.” [Phil] “It’s sadly ironic that two days after Mickelson’s drive and after he asked for advice on how to raise his daughter, he would tweet an insult by calling someone a woman’s body part in a childish way.”
Kim, who once reached as high as sixth in the world rankings, withdrew from the PGA Tour in 2012 and joined LIV Golf in March.
