One of the NFL’s most intriguing young quarterbacks appears to be recovering well from injury.
In a video posted to X on Friday, NFL agent Dayrick Jackson shared footage of his client, Colts second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson, throwing a deep ball during a workout.
But the real highlight was the incredible reverse windmill dunk that the 6-foot-4 quarterback completed with ease.
“I think 5 is good,” Jackson wrote to X.
Richardson injured the AC joint in his right shoulder (throwing side) in Week 5 of his rookie season and opted to have it surgically repaired, which will sideline him for the remainder of the 2023 season.
During the Colts’ mandatory minicamp on June 6, Richardson’s absence raised some red flags, and head coach Shane Steichen said Richardson “It hurts a little.”
Richardson later dismissed concerns, insisting he was “feeling fine” and just had “a little bit of pain.”
The No. 4 pick in last year’s draft had an up-and-down start to his pro career, passing for just 577 yards and three touchdowns in four starts (though his final game was significantly shortened) and earning an overall grade of 52.2 from Pro Football Focus.
Richardson is also known for his dynamic athleticism. Relative athleticism scores of the best quarterback prospects in NFL history — and ran the 40-yard dash in an impressive 4.43 seconds.
As a runner, Richardson gained 136 yards on 25 attempts in his first season, good for 5.4 yards per carry.
But the former University of Florida quarterback struggled with ball security, fumbling three times in his final two games.

Last year, Richardson missed 12 games with a shoulder injury and a concussion, and the Colts finished with a 9-8 record despite using Gardner Minshew as a backup, narrowly missing the postseason in Steichen’s first season as coach.
But with Richardson back, his incredible talent makes him a prime candidate to break out in his second year in the NFL.
The 22-year-old should benefit not only from good health, but also from the return of running back Jonathan Taylor and the addition of second-round wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.
Combine Richardson, Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., Mitchell and Josh Downs and Steichen’s offensive line could be one of the most exciting in 2024.
Richardson and the Colts are scheduled to return to the practice field on July 24, giving the quarterback a few more weeks to throw down some spectacular dunks before ownership makes a decision.
