On Friday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “The Record,” Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said “anti-American” Marxist tensions within the Democratic Party are tied to the rise of anti-Semitism, saying, “We has allowed this anti-Zionism. This kind of intolerance permeates the establishment, the Democratic Party, and the left.”
asked guest host Tom Basil. And are you ever surprised that the left and the media often downplay that? As you say, that’s what we focus on at Newsmax. But many other news outlets have to some extent ignored this issue. ”
Greenblatt responded, “Well, thank God for your leadership in not letting that happen. This show in particular has been great about that.” So why is this happening? I think we’ve seen anti-Semitism become normalized. Frankly, we’ve seen anti-Zionism become the norm…well, let’s be clear on this, right? If you harass, intimidate, or terrorize people because of where they come from or how they pray, you are not an activist. you are a bigot. You’re not an advocate, are you? you are an extremist. And for some reason, Tom, we’ve allowed this anti-Zionism, this kind of intolerance to infiltrate the establishment, the Democratic Party, the left. And I say this as someone who worked for President Obama, right?But I’m still clear-eyed enough to recognize hate when it happens, and it’s embarrassing, embarrassing to see this happening [in] Our higher education system has always been America’s jewel. ”
Then Mr. Basil said, “Oh, look, I happen to think this is tied to a very strong Marxist strain running within the Democratic Party. And Marxism and socialism are essentially atheistic.” So it’s anti-Semitism. It’s not only anti-Israel, it’s anti-faith in general.”
Mr. Greenblatt responded, “Definitely anti-American, Tom.”
