Anti-Israel protesters set up an encampment outside Los Angeles City Hall on Monday night, as similar demonstrations continue in cities across the U.S., including on college campuses.
More than a dozen tents were lined up outside City Hall in downtown Los Angeles, California, according to Fox 11. LAPD officers were later seen removing some of the tents.
The protesters were demanding that the city council demand Israel withdraw from Gaza and that the city disclose and cut all financial ties to Israel amid the ongoing Mideast war between Hamas terrorists and Israeli forces that began after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on the Jewish state of Gaza.

“An unauthorized demonstration is taking place in the Civic Center area of Downtown Los Angeles. There are people on the roadway, please use caution in the area,” the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The Los Angeles Police Department issued a tactical alert around 9 p.m., mobilizing officers to respond to the situation in an effort to prevent the encampment from expanding.
Police were seen patrolling the encampment and taking photos before setting up barricades in front of LAPD headquarters across from the protest and removing some of the tents.
