Anti-Israel demonstrators vandalized a statue of George Washington on the George Washington University (GWU) campus in Washington, D.C., and raised a Palestinian flag.

Flowers and small signs could also be seen placed along the statue’s base as of Tuesday morning.

“Will you please liberate my Palestine?” one of the signs reads.

The anti-Israel encampment at George Washington University was first set up on Thursday and has since spread from the university grounds on campus to tents set up on H Street.

The protesters participating in the on-campus encampment are reportedly made up of students from universities across Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas of Maryland; and Virginia (DMV); according to In the campus newspaper GW Hatchet.

The protesters have a list of demands, including that “the universities they represent drop all charges against pro-Palestinian protesters and student organizations; protect free speech on campus; “This includes divesting capital from companies that supply technology and weapons to Israel, disclosing all donations and investments, and ending academic partnerships with Israel,” the paper said.

The first encampment began on April 17th on the Columbia University campus. The next day, several students were suspended and hundreds of protesters were arrested.

Columbia University cleared the first encampment. But a second one appeared in his place.

Anti-Israel camps have been set up at Harvard University, Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of California, Los Angeles, and Rutgers University.
