Antifa members at UW encampment harass news cameraman for filming the protest

Antifa extremists were filmed harassing a Fox Q13 cameraman at the University of Washington encampment as tensions at the school continued to rise as the occupation entered its third week.

The Post Millennial’s Katie Daviscourt captured video of Antifa members using umbrellas and their bodies to block cameras. Fox Q13 cameraman Mike Harvey can be heard asking protesters if they’re on drugs because the harassers’ behavior is so strange.

One demonstrator asked Harvey if he understood why he was asking him not to film.

“Yes, and to be honest, I don’t care because this is a public place. It’s a newsworthy event. … I have a right to report,” Harvey tells them.

Masked protesters claim Harvey is putting them at risk by filming them in an apparent attempt to reveal personal information. Harvey further defends his actions, saying he was filming the entire scene and not necessarily the individual characters.

One of the more insane characters begins to mock Harvey after pointing out that he cannot interfere with his work as a journalist.

“We once again call on our members to voluntarily clear their encampments for everyone’s safety.”

Harvey posted the entire video from the camera’s perspective to X.

“These people are clearly mentally ill. Listen to them. So.” [UW] Allowing people who have lost their freedom to patrol campus as if security guards are harassing them.[ing] Freedom of the press? sufficient! For the love of God!Coward,” local media host Brandi Kruse said. Said In response to the incident.

It looks like the University of Wisconsin encampment isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Unlike most colleges, Wisconsin’s final week doesn’t begin until early June for him.

University of California President Anna Mari Coase released In a lengthy statement, the school said it was an escalation that added graffiti to many buildings on campus, but that the school was simply asking for the zone to be dezoned.

“I strongly support free speech and peaceful protest, as well as the right of all community members to live, learn, and work without fear. The Office of Campus Community Safety, University of Wisconsin Facilities, State and I would like to thank our local partners for supporting our community despite difficult circumstances, including two very tense counter-protests.” “However, with each day that campgrounds remain, safety concerns for our Wisconsin communities and the people of the campgrounds themselves grow. We urge our members to voluntarily close campgrounds for everyone’s safety.” We reiterate our call to the public to remove the site, cease vandalism on campus, and continue to engage constructively with us regarding the issues of concern.” ”
