College students at Temple University were suspended following an anti-Semitic incident at the Bar Stool Sports Bar in Philadelphia over the weekend.
A specific incident occurred when a bottle service girl displayed a sign that read “F–Jew.” Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, announced that the waitresses involved were terminated and offered to send them on an educational trip to Auschwitz to engage with two individuals associated with the sign and discuss the Holocaust.
One of the individuals named, Mo Khan, has since rejected any claims that he was involved in the incident, stating he had no knowledge of the sign’s creation. Khan noted that while he didn’t endorse the sign, he believes it reflects a broader discontent regarding Israel’s actions globally.
He later appeared on a show and expressed agreement with the host’s views about “Jewish hegemony.” Portnoy later criticized Khan on social media, labeling him a liar and accusing him of attempting to profit from the situation while deflecting responsibility.
Portnoy reflected on feeling “silly” for trying to remedy the situation, contending that Khan’s actions embody a deeper issue and criticizing him for not taking accountability for using divisive rhetoric. He emphasized that incidents of anti-Semitism remain a significant concern globally.
