Ocasio-Cortez Condemns Pro-Palestinian Protesters
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, known for her critical stance on Israel, recently expressed outrage after pro-Palestinian demonstrators were filmed chanting support for Hamas during a march in Queens.
In a post on X, she labeled the actions of the protesters as “disgusting and anti-Semitic,” particularly criticizing their choice to lead the rally with the slogan “We support Hamas.” She emphasized, “It’s pretty basic!”
The protest, featuring around 200 individuals waving Palestinian flags, occurred outside the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills synagogue. Some protesters were heard singing provocative songs while police maintained a distance across the street.
This demonstration was organized by Pal Awda, a group aimed at opposing the sale of what they termed “stolen” land in the West Bank. Critics have raised eyebrows at Ocasio-Cortez’s sudden defense of Jewish communities, speculating it might be linked to her possible future political aspirations.
In the wake of her remarks, a follower quipped, “Suddenly you no longer support Hamas? Must be election season.” The New York Republican Party also chimed in, mocking her language and accusing her of contributing to rising anti-Semitism. They criticized her use of a casual tone, implying it undermined the seriousness of the issue.
