Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez criticized the Democratic National Convention (DNC) speakers, two days after her speech in Chicago.
Ocasio-Cortez called on Democrats to change course on how they handle the Israel-Hamas conflict as agitators continue to gather outside the Democratic National Convention.
A New York Democratic congressman is urging his party to put Palestinians “at the center” at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week as both sides in the ongoing conflict affirm their “common humanity.”
“we, [Israelis taken hostage]”We must also focus on the humanity of the 40,000 Palestinians killed in Israeli bombings,” Ocasio-Cortez said via social media on Wednesday. “To deny that story is to be complicit in the dehumanization of Palestinians.”

” [Democratic Party] We must change direction and reaffirm our shared humanity,” she added.
Ocasio-Cortez made the comments in response to author Ta-Nehisi Coates noting that no Palestinian-Americans will be speaking at the convention.
The Biden administration and Democrats have done their best to ignore a growing number of leftists who are unhappy and often outraged by the country’s continued support for Israel’s war against Hamas after the Oct. 7 attacks.

Thousands of protesters rallied in Chicago this week to slam the Biden administration’s handling of the Middle East wars and its support for Israel after Hamas’ attacks on the country last year.
Anti-Israel demonstrations The unrest continued for a third straight night as the Democratic National Convention was taking place a few miles away at the United Center arena.
Protesters, many of them wearing keffiyeh, gathered in much larger numbers than Tuesday and marched down Maypole Avenue along 578th Park, waving flags and banners, including one that read, “Biden, Harris, you will see! Palestine will be free!” and “U.S. Aid to Israel and “Stop the genocide.”

Chicago police confirmed Wednesday that 56 people had been arrested at protests the previous day. Violent clashes with policeThe clashes occurred outside the Israeli Consulate building about two miles from the United Center.
Chicago police said one person was charged with a felony count of resisting an officer, while nine others were charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, assault, battery and criminal damage to property, police said.
Thirty of those detained by police were charged with disturbing the peace.
