Ocasio-Cortez Calls for Trump’s Impeachment

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has urged for the impeachment of President Donald Trump after the U.S. executed airstrikes on significant Iranian nuclear facilities.

Ocasio-Cortez, representing New York, described Trump’s actions as a “grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers” in a recent statement.

“He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment,” she noted in a post on X.

In a response, Trump declared the U.S. strikes in Iran a “spectacular military success.”

“Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated,” he said during his first remarks following the strikes.

He emphasized to Iran that if peace wasn’t achieved, they could expect more severe attacks in the future.

“Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier,” Trump warned in his Saturday night address. “This cannot continue. There will be either peace or there will be tragedy for Iran, far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days. Remember, there are many targets left.”

Trump asserted that the U.S. could target additional sites with “precision, speed, and skill” within minutes.
