AP Wins Award For Photo Of Naked, Mutilated Woman Murdered By Hamas

An Associated Press freelance photographer has won an award for his photo of a naked, mutilated woman killed by the Islamic terrorist group Hamas.

The Associated Press and Ali Mahmoud won first place in the “Team Picture Story of the Year” contest for their photo of the late Shani Luke, according to the contest’s website. During the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Luke was carried half-naked into the back of a truck by Hamas terrorists, who then drove away with his body.

Mahmoud’s award in the Photo of the Year program “recognizes the collaborative efforts of a film crew in covering a single topic or news story,” according to the contest’s website.
