The superintendent of Barrow County, Georgia, said students in the county will return to school next week with “extra support and security, including increased law enforcement,” following the Apalachee High School shooting.
In a message sent to parents, Dallas LeDuff said classes will resume for all students on Tuesday, Sept. 10, except for Apalachee High School.
“We believe that in order to move forward and to create familiarity for our students, we need to be together as soon as possible,” he said. “We will be messaging Apalachee families separately with information regarding their return.”
“We understand these are difficult times and we are here for you,” LeDuff added. “Additional support and security will be in place at each school, including increased law enforcement.”
