Apple announced its latest iPad Air model on Tuesday.
The release of the new tablet comes a day after CEO Tim Cook hinted on social media that he will be unveiling an imminent product that will be appearing “this week.”
Apple has promoted the new iPad Air as a “faster and more powerful” tablet and “Build” of The Tech Giant's Apple Intelligence.

Both will debut on March 12th. However, Apple has been taking pre-orders for new tablets starting Tuesday, the company said. The starting prices are $599 and $799 respectively.
The new iPad Air tablet is lighter and thinner than the traditional iPad, and features Apple's M3 chip. Apple says it is “almost twice as fast as the M1's iPad Air and up to 3.5 times faster than the A14 Bionic iPad Air.”
The chip allows Apple to “for the first time with advanced graphics architectures on the iPad Air, supporting dynamic caching, and introducing hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing.”
New iPad Air owners can also take advantage of many Apple Intelligence features.
Among them are the “cleanup” feature that allows you to easily remove distracting elements in an image, and the “image wand” that promotes “visually attractive “notes” according to Apple.
Apple said the new iPad Air is “built” for Apple Intelligence.

The company said users can access ChatGPT with “writing tools” and “Siri” in addition to other Apple Intelligence features.

The company recorded net sales of nearly $8.09 billion from the iPad category in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, jumping more than 15% year-on-year compared to the first quarter of fiscal year 2024. These iPad sales account for approximately 6.5% of the total revenue of $124.3 billion over the three-month revenue.

In addition to the iPad Air, Apple's iPad lineup consists of the traditional iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad Mini.
