Arch Manning Shines in Texas’ Victory Over Arkansas
In a standout performance, Arch Manning led the Texas Longhorns to a 52-37 victory against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday night.
Manning tallied six touchdowns overall—four through the air, along with one rushing and one receiving. With these accomplishments, he made his mark in Longhorns football history.
He became the first Texas quarterback to register at least one passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in a single game. Manning’s development as a quarterback was evident as he threw for a career-high 389 yards.
“It’s essential for a quarterback to navigate through tough games and challenges,” Manning reflected. “It’s tricky, but you work to push past it. Those challenging moments have really taught me a lot.”
He kicked off the game with a touchdown pass to wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr., connecting with him three times during the match. Manning also made a notable catch—a 4-yard touchdown on a reverse play from Parker Livingston.
“It was kind of a bright day, so I sort of lost focus for a moment,” he joked. “Parker did really well in practice and helped me out on some plays, so I felt I needed to return the favor.”
Livingston also made an impact, grabbing a 54-yard touchdown from Manning, wrapping up with two catches for a total of 104 yards during the game.
Now, with a season record of 8-3, Texas looks ahead to a crucial matchup against Texas A&M next week.
The Razorbacks, who recently parted ways with head coach Sam Pittman, are currently struggling with a record of 2-9, still in search of a victory against SEC opponents this season.
