Arch Manning Takes the Helm for Texas Longhorns

Eyes are now focused on Arch Manning, the quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, as he embarks on his inaugural season as the starting player in 2025.

Manning committed to Texas prior to the 2023 season. Last year, he played in two games while backing up Quinn Ewers. Now, with Ewers moving into the NFL, the responsibility falls squarely on Manning to lead Texas to success.

The spotlight on Manning, given both his football position and his last name, has certainly made him a local celebrity in Austin. During the Manning Passing Academy, he shared that he received some advice from actor Matthew McConaughey on managing the attention.

“It really varies by the night, but I generally try to stay low key. … It took some getting used to,” Manning reflected on the request for photos. “I actually had a conversation with Matthew McConaughey, and he shared some insights with me.”

“It felt great to have someone in my corner. … He taught me various ways to navigate different situations. Considering he’s much more well-known, getting advice from him is valuable.”

Manning has already generated NFL buzz, but he claims not to pay it much mind. “Honestly, I don’t pay much attention to opinions outside of my coach, my parents, and a few close friends. Their truth is what matters to me, not what others think.”
