Arch Manning’s first Texas highlights are spectacular after Quinn Ewers’ injury

Just two years ago, Arch Manning was the biggest star in college football scouting circles. The son of Cooper Manning and nephew of Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, Manning was the No. 1 overall player in the country when he committed to the University of Texas. According to 247SportsIt's rare for a player with this type of pedigree to wait that long before becoming a starter, but with Quinn Ewers ahead of him, Manning redshirted his true freshman year and will sit on the bench again this season.

Ewers succumbed to his injuries. Manning sat out Texas' Week 3 game against UTSA, but he missed the game. Manning played in the first significant game of his career and was an immediate force.

Manning's first pass of the game was a 19-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Moore Jr. to put Texas up 21-0. You can watch the play here:

Manning again led Texas to the end zone on the next possession, making this touchdown even more impressive. On second down and two from his own end, Manning faked a handoff and took off on a planned run. He rushed 67 yards for a touchdown.

Peyton Manning and Eli Manning couldn't move like this. Their nephew has a car!

That's amazing Manning Fireworks for you.

Manning threw another long touchdown pass in the third quarter, but running back Isaiah Bonds did most of the hard work.

And then Manning had another touchdown pass, this one 75 yards.

Ewers has played like a first-round NFL draft pick since the start of this season. Could Manning be even better? It's best not to take too much away from the game against UTSA, but Manning's talent is impressive.

Texas can't keep Manning on the bench for long, and before you know it, this will be his program.
