Archaeologists believe they have unearthed a long-lost temple where Jesus Christ is said to have performed miracles.
Recent archaeological excavations in Israel may have revealed a hidden site where Jesus Christ preached and healed people, according to New Testament accounts.
Archaeologists believe this could be a temple lost more than 2,000 years ago, and could prove a biblical story that mentions Chorazin.
Archaeologists descended on a synagogue built in A.D. 380 that was discovered in 1905. The synagogue is in the ancient city of Chorazin, which is now part of Chorazim National Park in northern Israel.
Archaeologists moved large rocks that appear to have been strategically placed inside the synagogue and also removed its floor during the excavation.
Excavations have uncovered an even older temple buried beneath the synagogue floor.
The team found pottery, coins and cooking utensils behind the rocks.
“We can’t date the rocks themselves, but we can date the items found among the rocks.” stated Atia Cohen Tabor, chief archaeologist at the Dagesh Tourist and Archaeological Society.
Cohen Tavar explained: YouTube According to a video documenting the excavation, “The only thing we can date is the pottery that comes out of the rocks and hopefully the coins and what’s underneath. Whatever comes out of between these stones will help us date the construction of the synagogue here.”
Cohen Tavor Declared“This is a groundbreaking discovery. I’ve done excavations all over the place. [the globe]For me, this is without a doubt one of the most important excavations I have ever led.”

Chorazin is well documented in the New Testament, especially in the Book of Matthew, which mentions the city as a place where Jesus preached and healed people.
However, Jesus cursed the cities of Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum because the inhabitants would not accept his teaching to repent, even though they had witnessed the miracles he performed for them.
Matthew 11:20-24 Read:
Jesus then began to condemn the cities where most of his miracles were performed for not repenting: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that have been done in you had happened in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you that it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than you. Capernaum, will you not be exalted to heaven? You will go down to hell. For if the miracles that have been done in you had happened in Sodom, they would have remained until this day. But I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than you.”
The 4th century synagogue at Chorazin “Moses’ SeatThe “Arabic” is an ancient chair carved from a block of basalt. This chair is where rabbis and other religious leaders sit and read the Torah.
“The Seat of Moses” Matthew 23:1-3: “Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. Make sure you observe all that they say, but do not do what they do, for they preach but do not practice.'”
