Are political assassination attempts the new normal?

President Trump survived his second assassination attempt.

If you had told Americans a few months ago that this is where we are today, few would have believed it. Why do we do that? Before President Trump held his fateful July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, it seemed unthinkable that either candidate would face a serious attempt on their lives. But since then, the same thing has happened not once, but twice. This raises a frightening question: Are assassination attempts becoming the new normal in American politics?

Trump's second attempt on his life occurred on Sunday, September 15th, at his West Palm Beach golf course. While Trump played several rounds, Secret Service agents scanned the area for potential threats and eventually noticed the muzzle of a rifle protruding from the bushes on the outskirts of the course. Investigators fired several shots at the suspect, who then jumped into a car and fled, leaving behind weapons, equipment and a GoPro camera. He was later arrested by law enforcement and identified as Ryan Wesley Routh.

Liberal radicalization is real and shows no signs of slowing down, even after two assassination attempts.

While Butler shooter Thomas Crooks remains a mystery, with his background, beliefs and motives unclear, much more is known about Routh. He is a die-hard liberal who appears to be driven by the same anti-Trump complaints often heard from corporate left-wing media.

Oddly enough, Rous profiled In 2023, he wrote an article for the New York Times along with other American volunteers in Ukraine. The article lists Routh as a former construction worker from Greensboro, North Carolina, who spent several months in Ukraine in 2022 “looking for recruits among Afghan soldiers who had fled the Taliban.” Routh's sketchy plan involved illegally moving these Afghan soldiers from Pakistan and Iran to Ukraine.

Routh's social media accounts were suspended, but conservative sleuths were able to save some of his posts. In April's X post, Routh tagged @POTUS, I wrote:

Your campaign name should be something like KADAF. Keep America democratic and free. Trump should be MASA…make Americans slaves and masters again. Democracy is on the ballot and we cannot afford to lose. We can't afford to fail. The world expects us to show them the way.

Louth too donated In the 2020 election, he ran for Democratic candidates 19 times.

The media has tried to hide Routh's political leanings by pointing out that he is not registered with any political party and reportedly voted for Trump in 2016, but this is difficult. That's not the point. Without exaggeration, it can be said that the perpetrators of the second attempt on Trump's life were ideologically committed liberals who feared that Trump was trying to end American democracy forever.

Of course, that's an outrageous fear. Trump is not trying to be a fascist dictator. His enemy isn't “democracy” — it's the deep state, the unelected bureaucrats responsible for pulling our country off track. However, through the power of the media, the deep state has succeeded in convincing many Americans that “democracy” is synonymous with its oppression of our country. Ryan Routh's attempt on Trump's life is a direct result of this.

After the events of September 15th, we cannot dismiss Butler's assassination attempt as a one-off. It wasn't just an unusual situation; it was the first time anyone knows how many attempts have been made on President Trump's life. After Butler took office, the country's corporate media and political establishment had an opportunity to lower the temperature, soften their rhetoric, and stop acting as if President Trump was trying to dissolve the Capitol. But they didn't, and we now find ourselves in a bleak situation where assassination attempts on dissident candidates (and in this case, former presidents) are the new normal.

Those in power have no intention of lowering the temperature. They are responsible for America's slide into political violence, having hysterically spread dangerous falsehoods about President Trump and his supporters. Liberal radicalization is real and shows no signs of slowing down, even after two assassination attempts.

Don't hold your breath and wait for the left to change its ways. The concern is power, not maintaining America's once sacrosanct norms such as not assassinating political opponents. Only by achieving a lasting political victory against these ghouls can we undo the nightmarish new normal they have created.

Admittedly, that's a tall order. But that's exactly why I'm voting for Trump this November.
