JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — Argentine President Javier Millei made a surprise visit to the Western Wall (Kotel) late Thursday night, revisiting Judaism’s holiest site again before his four-day trip to Israel ends Friday morning. visited.
Unlike during his first visit on Tuesday, where a security fence had been erected and a special prayer podium had been erected for Milais, the president arrived with a group of several rabbis and security officials and had already set up a wall. I joined the people praying at the temple.
For several minutes, Millay rested her face on the old stone of the castle wall and prayed silently. Afterward, she hugged rabbis, including spiritual advisor Rabbi Simon Jacobson and Rabbi Shimon Axel Wanis, who will become Argentina’s ambassador to Israel.

The crowd began humming religious melodies (“Nigunim“) Spontaneously, he then began to play moving Jewish songs such as:”am israel chai” (“The People of Israel Live”). Millay danced on his shoulders with the rabbi and her friends.
He then posed for a photo with Argentina’s Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, flashing his trademark glare and thumbs-up gesture.
Millay can look back on a successful visit. He announced that the Argentine embassy would be moved to Jerusalem. He visited Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust memorial. He toured the remains of Kibbutz Nir Oz, which was attacked by Hamas on October 7. And he was welcomed like a rock star throughout Israel. In doing so, he raised Argentina’s image and kept the world’s attention on a country that had been largely ignored in recent decades, except in extraordinary circumstances.
He leaves for Rome and the Vatican on Friday.
