Ariana Madix shares her thoughts on sustaining relationships beyond the 'Love Island' setting.

So, what’s the trick to heating things up? I mean, outside of just being in a villa?

According to Ariana Madix, the host of “Love Island USA,” it might be tricky to maintain connections after the show’s conclusion.

Season 7 of the popular series on Peacock is now airing. A couple of contestants, like Amaya Espinal and Brian Arenales, recently ended their relationship after just a month, likely influenced by their August win in a dating contest.

Similarly, Iris Kendall and Pepe Garcia-Gonzalez also separated once the cameras stopped rolling.

Even though Madix engages in a somewhat tumultuous dating show, she’s happily coupled up with Dan Wylie. They rekindled their romance in 2023 after her split with Tom Sandoval from “Vanderpump Rules.”

Madix often reflects on the strength of their relationship. She mused, “Honestly, I think the funny memes or TikToks I send him mostly convey the same feelings. He loves me even when I’m at my most annoying and weird. Instead of pretending to be something I’m not, I think being genuine is key. The right person will love you even more for it.”

On the work front, Madix is keeping busy and thriving. She made her Broadway debut in January 2024 in “Chicago,” which was a hit, breaking box office records.

She also returned to the stage for a limited time from August 1 to August 27, 2024.

Now, she’s eyeing a role as the dancing queen in another Broadway classic. She fondly remembers seeing “Mamma Mia!” when it first opened and expressed her love for ABBA, saying she’d even be thrilled just to carry props if she could.

When not acting, Madix runs a sandwich shop in West Hollywood, called Something About Her, alongside her friend and former co-star Katie Maloney.

Madix is also passionate about environmental concerns, mentioning how monarch butterflies are endangered. She thinks it would be great to plant milkweed to help these butterflies, stating, “They’re in serious decline.”

She took a moment to honor Diane Keaton, who passed away recently at the age of 79. Keaton had visited her sandwich shop, and Madix fondly recalled the experience, noting how iconic Keaton is, particularly her distinct fashion sense.

Madix mentioned, “I love turtlenecks too, and I think she’s going to be greatly missed.”

Madix isn’t just interested in classic films; she’s also watching season 34 of “Dancing with the Stars.” In season 32, she competed and secured third place alongside Pasha Pashkov.

As for the current season, Madix seems to be rooting for everyone. She expressed enthusiasm for seeing certain contestants, like Elaine Hendrix and Andy Richter, noting the talent and fun they bring to the competition.
